Company’s Apollo TM200EN Per-Service Encryption Card Wins in Optical Subsystems Category
Petach Tikva, Israel – March 19, 2018 – ECI®, a global provider of ELASTIC Network® solutions for service providers, critical infrastructures and data center operators, announced today it was recognized as a winner in the 2018 Lightwave Innovation Reviews program by having its Apollo TM200EN Per-Service Encryption Card chosen as outstanding innovation in the Optical Subsystems category. ECI was given the honor during a reception celebrating finalists and winners last week during the Optical Fiber Conference (OFC).
Presented annually by Lightwave, the Lightwave Innovation Reviews program distinguishes top products and solutions available within the optical networking industry as determined by a panel of third-party judges. Judges included industry executives and analysts from a wide variety of service providers, technology developers, industry analysts and journalists.

“On behalf of the Lightwave Innovation Reviews, I would like to congratulate the outstanding winners,” said Lightwave Group Publisher Christine Shaw. “The 2018 program was competitive, and the top scoring companies exemplify innovation in the optical networking industry.”
“We are honored to receive this Lightwave Innovation Reviews Program Award for our TM200EN PerService Encryption Card, recognizing our work to provide an industry-leading optical-layer encryption solution,” said ECI Head of Global Portfolio, Jimmy Mizrahi. “ECI’s solution offers a unique encryption on a per-service basis up to 200Gbps, making it one of the fastest in the market. Moreover, the solution enables service providers to offer Layer 1 encryption as a service for additional revenue streams. ”

ECI’s 200G encryption transponder/muxponder with Apollo’s TM200EN card solves the typical all or none issues service providers face when offering optical encryption as a service to customers. As optical hardware has become more compact and more services can be supported on a single card, this has meant limited options for offering separate encryption services.

With the TM200EN card, each client service can be independently encrypted with its own key management, and encrypted and non-encrypted services can be combined on the same line without restrictions. Service providers can now install the hardware for an ultra-high-speed 200Gbps network on day one and offer both encrypted and unencrypted services to their clients. Existing clients can be upsold at any time to an encrypted service without the need to replace any hardware, as the service can be enabled at any time via software commands.
The Innovation Reviews are judged based on the following criteria:  Originality  Innovation  Positive impact on the customer  How well it addresses a new or existing requirement  Novelty of approach

Cost-effectiveness
In addition to this award, ECI was also shortlisted for the Optical Transport Platforms award with the ECI Apollo 9904X Scalable OTN Platform. Up until now, OTN switching has been predominantly deployed in the network core because current solutions require that the entire switching bandwidth be deployed upon installation, or do not provide full mesh connectivity across all interfaces. With the Apollo 9904X, service providers can now enjoy the benefits of OTN switching in a cost-effective, compact form factor, which is perfect for metro networks. The expandable switching capability of the Apollo 9904X allows OTN switching to be added economically in 200Gbps increments, when and where it is needed.
