Effortel platform enables operator class service packaging for new Omani MVNO Brussels, 23rd August 2010, Effortel, the mobile virtual network operator and enabler, announced today that Samatel, Oman’s newest MVNO, is launching services using Effortel’s mobile virtual network enabler (MVNE) platform. Effortel’s platform delivers all of the technical and operational needs of the network to allow Samatel to focus on the key marketing and customer service requirements. Samatel, which launched to subscribers on 22nd August, is the first Middle Eastern MVNO to use a fully specified enabling platform. The Effortel platform allows Samatel to act as more than a simple reseller of services provided by the supplying operator. That flexibility provides Samatel with the ability to design and operate bespoke mobile packages to address mainstream and niche audiences. Arkadi Panitch, Founder and CEO of Effortel said, “Mobile telecoms is a competitive sector and it is no longer enough to be simply reselling services dictated by the MNO. MVNOs need the capability to design service packages that meet the needs of their target markets, and to react quickly to changing market conditions. That capability is what Effortel’s MVNE platform delivers.” “Samatel is 100% Omani owned, has access to a country wide network of 400 retail outlets and our customers are supported locally, said Dr Wael Taher, Samatel’s CEO. “We know the local market conditions extremely well but we also needed a platform and partner that allows us to exploit that knowledge. Effortel’s experience launching and running multiple MVNO ventures makes it much more than a technology partner. It is a valued business advisor that will help us to launch and maintain compelling services for our customers.” “Our guiding philosophy revolves around five main principals: integrity, respect, professionalism, innovation and commitment. We aim to revolutionise customer experience in the Omani mobile sector and provide our customers with the very best in mobile telecommunications through our devotion to service and innovation. With Effortel partnering us we are very much closer to our objectives” added Dr Wael. Prior to Samatel’s launch and deployment phases Effortel provided the company with assistance in its negotiations with Nawras, the Omani mobile network operator, for the wholesale supply of network access services. Additionally, Effortel provided expertise in business modelling to help refine Samatel’s proposition to its target residential and SME markets. Commenting on the Samatel launch Effortel CMO, Liudvikas Andriulis, said, “Samatel is one of seven MVNOs now supported by Effortel’s centralised platform. We provide the core intelligent network capability, the CRM and billing systems and provision for value added services. With those elements in hand our MVNO customers are free to create a brand proposition and to fully exploit their local market knowledge.” For more information please contact: Matt Humphries / Sam Tring Babel PR for Effortel T. +44 (0)20 7434 5550 E. effortel@babelpr.com W. www.babelpr.com About Effortel Effortel, founded in 2005, is a multi-country Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) operating in joint-venture partnership with major brands across the world.
