ElasticHosts Adds Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and Windows Server 8 Preview to Cloud Server Offerings

Latest Microsoft Technologies available for customers

London, UK. April 19th, 2012: ElasticHosts, the cloud server provider, has today announced that it has made the latest Microsoft technologies available to customers, adding to the existing wide range of cloud server configurations. ElasticHosts is well known for providing easy-to-use on demand, scalable cloud servers with independent scaling of CPU, RAM and disk rather than fixed instance types. This means that customers can pay only for what they need, when they need it; scaling up or down as demands fluctuate.

The first new option is Windows SQL Server 2012, which is available to customers from today. With the public release just last week of Microsoft’s latest version of their premier database product, ElasticHosts has been quick to respond with updated cloud server configurations. SQL Server 2012 Web Edition is available for the same low monthly rental price as the previous SQL 2008, as well as Express Edition, which is a basic version of Microsoft’s SQL Database product, available for free.

Responding to Microsoft’s latest release of Windows Server 8 Beta, ElasticHosts has added a self-install option for this latest preview Microsoft Server Operating System, further expanding the range of configurations and demonstrating the use of future Microsoft products in the cloud environment. Richard Davies, CEO of ElasticHosts explained: “We’re proud to be at the cutting edge for new technologies. With these additions, customers have the option to explore these new products in the safe environment of their own cloud server. Developers and IT Managers can research the potential impact of next-generation software without risking current infrastructure. Now that Microsoft has extended the limited preview from just a month all the way to January 2013, this is an ideal time to spin up a Windows 8 Server – a job that can be done in just a few minutes – without investing in any hardware dedicated to the job. In fact, since we have a five day free trial available, now is a better than ever time to try ElasticHosts’ servers and plan for the use of future technologies.”

ElasticHosts servers are available at three North America Locations – Los Angeles, California; San Antonio, Texas and Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Servers are also available at two European locations serving London, UK.

Davies added, “It’s very important to our customers that we support their current deployments; but with technology changing so fast, many customers also use our instant cloud server deployment to test the newest technologies for future use. This is why we now offer SQL Server 2012 and Windows Server 8 Beta as options.”

To mark the availability of these latest Microsoft technologies, ElasticHosts is currently offering a 5-day free trial to businesses. Prices then start from 6c per hour, or $44 per month. For more information, please visit http://www.elastichosts.com/
