FCI and RECOM recognised for exceptional collaboration

and performance on element14 sites in Asia Pacific

Singapore, 24 April 2012 – element14 (formerly Farnell), the first information portal, collaborative community and electronics store for design engineers and electronics enthusiasts, today announced two  Asia Pacific web awards for their suppliers during the Semicon 2012 show held in Singapore. These awards recognise the outstanding results that FCI and RECOM have delivered during 2011 in achieving effective marketing campaigns and high engagement in the element14 Community site, respectively.

“We have been working closely with our industry-leading suppliers to launch dedicated marketing campaigns on both our e-commerce site and on the element14 Community, to connect more meaningfully with engineers in Asia Pacific on the wide range of solutions and products we offer,“ says William Chong, Regional Director of Supplier Marketing, element14 Asia Pacific, who added “These valued suppliers have collaborated on a variety of innovative and effective programmes which have delivered exceptional results and we wanted to take this occasion at Semicon 2012 to acknowledge them.”

The ‘Best Digital Marketing Campaign’ went to FCI for its integrated use of multi-channels for new product introductions. The promotions on its FFC/FPC connectors and Terminal Block products were well received by engineers and resulted in increases in web visits, conversions and orders for its range of products.

RECOM Power received the award for the ‘Most Effective Engagement on element14 Community’ thanks to its comprehensive and varied content such as videos and regular product updates, in addition to its Roadtests which were highly appreciated by element14 Community members. The Roadtest programme gives members the chance to personally test and review the latest products from element14 and provide their fellow engineers with valuable insights into the real-life application of products.

The element14 Community is the online hub where engineers, electronics enthusiasts and experts gather and connect with one another through discussions on their latest projects. The Community currently has more than 96,000 members, and also leverages popular social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter, to engage its members.

element14’s participation in Semicon 2012 has involved showcasing the ground-breaking Raspberry Pi computer, in addition to The Knode and the latest version 6 of CadSoft’s EAGLE. Visitors to the element14 booth, number 714, until 26 April, can enjoy a variety of deals and browse a wide selection of leading electronics solutions for electronic system design, and maintenance and repair.
