Cupertino, California (November 17, 2011) – Entone Inc., a leading provider of Hybrid TV and Connected Home solutions, announced today that industry veteran Andrew Morton has joined the company to lead sales and market development for Entone’s Broadband TV (BBTV) business, focusing on helping operators build a competitive television service that increases subscriber engagement and overall profitability.

Morton brings over 18 years of telecommunications and technology experience, filled with industry firsts in DSL, IPTV and over-the-top (OTT) video. Before joining Entone, Morton served as vice president of sales for Prodea Systems, where he focused on the connected home and hosted cloud services. Before that, he successfully launched and grew Comtrend Corporation in the Americas, after holding senior positions at 3Com and Lexmark/IBM.

Bundling Broadband Internet with Pay-TV and cloud-based services yields a service that dramatically improves upon the shortcomings of OTT while providing compelling cost savings compared to traditional Pay-TV services. Morton’s appointment to focus exclusively on the BBTV business further reinforces Entone’s commitment to this new service category.

“Andrew is an excellent complement to the Entone team,” expressed Steve McKay, CEO of Entone. “His extensive experience with connected home services will be an asset to operators as they develop their business case for the next generation of broadband services, including Entone’s rapidly growing FusionTV service.”

Entone’s FusionTV delivers the best of live TV and online content via a unified user experience. FusionTV enables service operators to offer a seamless user interface that combines live HDTV service, digital video recording (DVR), and cloud-based services such as VUDU Movies, music streaming, photo sharing, social media, and hundreds of popular Web apps. These services are available to subscribers via a single operator-managed Entone device, with a single user interface and remote control. The same collection of services can also be accessed from multiple TVs in the home without requiring the duplication of devices at each TV.

“Broadband is becoming the primary relationship between operators and consumers. Supercharging premium broadband tiers with a compelling, advanced hybrid TV service is a winning strategy for any service provider,” noted Morton. “I’m delighted to be joining a company with not just a vision for such innovative services but also the technology and market momentum to back it up. I look forward to growing Entone’s BBTV business.”
