Major Mobile Operator Announces Free-to-Air TV
Supporting Netflix and YouTube Applications

Cupertino, California (June 23, 2014) – Entone, Inc., a leading provider of Cloud TV and Connected Home solutions, announced today that it has been selected by TIM Brasil for their “Live TIM Blue Box” launch. The ground-breaking product provides a seamless blend of live free-to-air television and “over the top” (OTT) video.

TIM is the largest mobile operator in Brazil with over 74 million subscribers. TIM’s Live TIM Blue Box offers live off-air content and supports Netflix and YouTube applications. The product will be available through TIM’s retail outlets or other major retailers throughout Brazil.

“We selected Entone as part of our efforts to collaborate with leading video content suppliers. We believe these choices will help us provide a differentiated video service that enriches the connection we have with our subscribers,” commented Rogerio Takayanagi, CEO of TIM Fiber.

Entone’s Hybrid TV solution enables service operators to cost-effectively deliver video services over any broadband network while also providing a flexible platform to launch new cloud-based applications.

“Entone continues to gain traction with the world’s leading mobile operators,” said Steve McKay, CEO of Entone. “As the battleground shifts from the living room to the connected consumer, we believe that mobile operators have a unique opportunity to strengthen their relationship with consumers who want to leverage mobile devices to access and control not only video services, but a growing array of home management and other related services.”

About TIM Brazil
TIM is Brazil’s second largest operator and the leading company in the pre-paid segment.  The company has over 74.4 million clients and market share of 27,03%. TIM’s positive performance is driven by innovation and it has pioneered a number of important industry trends to make mobile services accessible to everyone.

TIM also focuses on network and customer service quality. In the three-year period through 2016, over 90% of the company’s forecast 11 billion BRL in investment will be spent on infrastructure. As it expands and improves its network, the company has acquired assets including Intelig (2009), AES Atimus (2011) and runs a number of special projects, such as building a fiber optic network in the North of Brazil, through LT Amazonas, providing digital inclusion for the population living in remote areas of the country.

The company also prioritizes transparency in its business and customer relationships.  One milestone was the 2012 launch of the Portas Abertas website (www.tim.com.br/portasabertas) where consumers can obtain accurate information on TIM’s coverage as well as its network expansion and improvement projects.

TIM is still the only company in the telecommunications industry on the BM&FBOVESPA New Market for corporations with the highest level of corporate governance. It is also part of the stock market’s Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE) and the Carbon Efficiency Index (ICO2).
