Hybrid QAM-IP Solution Delivers Advanced Video Services Over Existing Cable Networks

Cupertino, California (July 29, 2014) – Entone, Inc., a leading provider of Cloud TV and Connected Home solutions, announced today that Three River Telco has selected its Hybrid CATV solution to power their Pay TV service.

Three River Communications has been serving Northern Nebraska for over 100 years. Based in Lynch, Nebraska, Three River today offers advanced voice, video, and broadband services over their state-of-the-art hybrid fiber-coax (HFC) network.

“To compete for consumers’ dollars, we need to give them what they want, a seamless user experience that makes all video content available anywhere, at any time, on any device,” commented Neil Classen, General Manager of Three River Telco  “By replacing our legacy MPEG-2 Motorola boxes with Entone’s hybrid CATV solution, we can take advantage of our existing network and begin leveraging MPEG-4 compression which is allowing us to free up precious bandwidth that is required to deliver more compelling services. This puts us in a better position to support our connected consumers.”

With an integrated DOCSIS 3.0 modem and QAM tuner options, Entone’s Hybrid CATV solution supports content from both legacy cable and IP networks. Entone’s Hybrid CATV solution lets service operators implement a cost-effective strategy for delivering a seamless user experience over existing networks today, while also providing a solid foundation for delivering Hybrid TV and bring-your-own-device (BYOD) services in the future.

“More and more forward-looking cable operators like Three River are realizing that an all-IP environment provides long term benefits for both operator and consumer alike,” said Bill Hughes, Senior Product Manager at Entone. “We are pleased to be partnering with Power and Tel on this project and look forward to supporting them as they help Three River rollout new IP services.”

Entone offers a range of hybrid CATV devices that are pre-integrated with market leading middleware and digital rights management (DRM) systems to enable progressive operators to quickly deploy Hybrid TV services.
