EXFO Showcases Its End-to-End Assessment Solution for Wireless Networks at CTIA Wireless 2011

QUEBEC CITY, CANADA, March 16, 2011 – EXFO Inc. (NASDAQ: EXFO, TSX: EXF) announced today its participation at International CTIA Wireless 2011 (booth 4346), March 22-24, 2011, in Orlando, USA, where it will demonstrate its innovative and comprehensive testing and monitoring solutions designed to help wireless operators seamlessly transform their network infrastructure.

As mobile networks continue to embrace new services, applications and technologies, wireless operators need powerful, world-class solutions to address their multivendor network environments. With this in mind, EXFO will present its industry-leading 2G/3G/4G NetHawk M5 Analyzers and NetHawk iPro, the ultimate data capture and performance analysis solution. EXFO will also showcase its BrixMobile service assurance solution, which features a newly integrated and highly scalable packet core monitoring engine, allowing deep packet inspection (DPI) of real-time traffic to accurately classify each user’s traffic by application. Thanks to BrixMobile, operators can enable subscriber-based, application-level quality monitoring-a must in delivering a high quality of experience (QoE) when assessing LTE and other packet-network environments.

CTIA Wireless 2011 is also the ideal venue to present EXFO’s QualityAssurer QA-604 Next-Generation Network Test Platform. Without compromising on performance or capability, this VoIP and IMS network testing platform delivers stress testing applications and enables emulation of more than two million IMS subscribers and one million SIP endpoints. The QualityAssurer QA-604 is the ideal solution for checking the functionality, load tolerance and security of the network via SBCs, SIP proxies, IMS and security gateways testing.

Moreover, having introduced EtherSAM (ITU-T Y.1564) and the BV10 Performance Endpoint Unit, EXFO continues to innovate with the SyncWatch-110, the industry’s most comprehensive unit to assess network synchronization, including SyncE and IEEE 1588v2. As mobile backhaul networks evolve to support packet-based transmission, maintaining accurate synchronization becomes critical to network performance. If left unchecked, synchronization errors can cause a significant loss of data, reduced network capacity and dropped calls. Thanks to the versatility of the SyncWatch-110, operators can validate, qualify and monitor network synchronization throughout their migration plan.

“EXFO is excited to be at CTIA Wireless 2011 and showcase its innovative solutions that serve the tremendous growth for wireless services”, said Vivian Hudson, Vice-President of EXFO’s Service Assurance and Wireless Divisions. “Delivering real-life test solutions that help wireless network operators and equipment manufacturers optimize the performance of their networks while reducing their OPEX and improving their subscribers’ quality of experience are all important factors that we are taking into consideration when developing our offering.”

At the upcoming International CTIA Wireless 2011, EXFO’s product and technology experts will be available to discuss the company’s end-to-end assessment solutions for wireless networks. More specifically, as the first company in the industry to implement EtherSAM (ITU-T Y.1564) in its innovative solutions offering, EXFO will be performing live demo of this new Carrier Ethernet testing standard throughout the event. To speak with EXFO experts or to experience the demos, please visit booth 4346.
