FASHIONS TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION

Fashion retailer Oasis was tonight awarded “Retail Technology Initiative of the Year” at the High Street Oscars, the Oracle Retail Week Awards 2012.

A previous winner in this category, Oasis utilised iPad point of sale technology to merge web, mobile, social and physical retailing channels for the launch of its flagship store on Argyll Street, London. The iPad technology allowed staff immediate access to the Oasis website at any location within the store to check stock availability and order items that were not available in store. The point of sale technology ensured shorter queuing time for customers and enhanced engagement between shopper and retail assistant.

As well as using the iPads for roaming purposes, a selection were also fixed at stations around stores as “Look Books” to allow customers to browse the website and make 90 minute purchase deliveries . In the first week of operation, iPad point of sale technology accounted for a fifth of all sales and Oasis is now rolling this technology out across it stores in the UK and Ireland.
