FIBERLIGHT, LLC COMPLETES 4,500 NEW ROUTE MILES AS TEXAS EXPANSION PROJECT ROLLS ON

FiberLight LogoATLANTA, GA, USA – January 28, 2014 –FiberLight, LLC (FiberLight) celebrated the new year by surpassing a critical milestone in its Texas Expansion Project.  As of December 31, 2013, it had completed over 4,500 miles of its planned 8,000-mile expansion across the central and western regions of Texas.  FiberLight intends to install an additional 2,000 route miles in 2014 that will bring much-needed high-speed data transport services to underserved areas and will continue to support wireless backhaul demands throughout the state.

Included in FiberLight’s 2013 activities was a 400-mile expansion of its Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) metro area network.   The DFW expansion connects 300 locations, including local data centers that will increase customer connectivity options and allow customers greater access to cloud-based services.  Customers in smaller communities across Texas, including: Ballinger, Jasper, Happy, Shamrock, Reagan and Oilton, are also benefiting from FiberLight’s expanded network.

Once this phase of the expansion is complete, the FiberLight network within the state of Texas will span over 11,000 miles and bring critical, high-bandwidth applications to carrier, enterprise and government customers.  Additionally, the expanded FiberLight network will connect major peering locations in Dallas, Houston and San Antonio to the state’s quickly-growing metro areas, including: Amarillo, Midland, Odessa, Lubbock, Abilene, Corpus Christi, Laredo, McAllen, Beaumont and Temple.

FiberLight is looking forward to deepening its relationships with the state of Texas and with businesses across the state through its continued expansion efforts.  “To date, we have partnered with more than 40 local suppliers of goods and services to design and construct our expanded network,” says Ron Kormos, President of Texas Operations for FiberLight.  “We will have directly contributed $300,000,000 dollars to the Texas economy, not including an indirect spend by our employees and partners, by the time this project is completed.”
