Fluke’s Advanced Power Quality Analysis Tools Now Available via Livingston

Test sourcing specialist Livingston has further expanded the portfolio of power quality test equipment offered to its customers. The company has announced availability of the Fluke 437 Series II handheld energy analyser to rent through its Europe-wide supply chain. Supporting 400Hz operation, this model is optimised for aerospace, defence and other space-constrained mission critical applications, which often need to utilise higher power frequencies so that the transformers and motors specified can be smaller and lighter.

Featuring sophisticated power quality functionality, the analyser makes use of Fluke’s proprietary Unified Power Management algorithm, allowing accurate measurement of energy losses in electrical systems through the presence of harmonics and unbalance issues. With up to ten power quality parameters displayed simultaneously on screen, it can record 150 different parameters in total – allowing the sources of power wastage within a system to be pinpointed and quantified. The PowerWave fast capture function displays waveforms and half cycle root mean square (RMS) voltage and current values in full detail to measure interactions during switching operations, thereby preventing motor, drive and load mismatches in power distribution equipment and switch gear.

The Fluke 437 Series II is supplied in a compact, lightweight, rugged enclosure, which is highly suited to use out in the field. An operational temperature range of 0°C to +40°C is supported, with and extended range version covering +40°C to +50°C also offered. It is fully compliant with the IEC 61000-4-30 Class-A standard.
