Join EBlink Boards

PARIS – Sept. 6, 2012 – EBlink, the world leader in wireless fronthaul solutions for mobile communication networks, today announced that three former senior telecom industry executives have accepted new board positions – one on the board of directors’ and two on the advisory board.

The appointments highlight endorsements of EBlink’s vision of delivering an innovative wireless fronthaul technology for deploying macro and small cells in mobile telecom networks, while eliminating the need for coax cable or fiber optics.

Former Nokia Siemens executive Giuseppe Donagemma brings more than 18 years of industry experience to EBlink’s board of directors. Donagemma, who most recently headed Nokia Siemens Networks’ 30-country European region, has held a variety of senior executive positions in the communications industry in Europe, Asia and Africa. He previously served as global marketing and sales vice president for Nokia’s mobile networks business unit and as chairman and managing director for Nokia Italy.

“These are exciting and demanding times in the industry and they require new solutions for rapidly evolving mobile networks,” Donagemma said. “By allowing operators to quickly and cost effectively deploy cell sites and build highly distributed mobile networks, EBlink provides timely, innovative solutions to the challenges they face.”

Advisory board member Chris Burke is a former chief technology officer of Vodafone UK. His career in telecommunications, IT and technology spans more than three decades in both Europe and North America. In addition to his experience as CTO at Vodafone, Burke has held technical and management positions at Nortel, Energis and Research In Motion. He also has extensive experience in helping technology companies create value for investors.

“Joining EBlink’s advisory board was a natural fit for me, because it enables me to share my experience with a company that can make a big impact on the future of mobile networks,” Burke said. “EBlink’s breakthrough wireless fronthaul technology offers a new world of possibilities by wirelessly connecting a base band unit to remote radio heads. Along with unmatched flexibility and performance, the company’s solutions will allow the industry to more quickly move forward with macro and small-cell architectures required to deploy future 4G networks.”

Vivian Hudson also joins EBlink’s advisory board with more than 30 years of industry experience. Hudson held a variety of senior global executive positions at Nortel Networks between 1990 and 2007, including general manager of the wireless GSM division based in France, vice president of global wireless operations, and vice president of Nortel optical networks.  Her more than 30 years of industry experience also included earlier stints at Bell Canada and Canadian Pacific.

EBlink’s wireless fronthaul technology is unique in the industry in that it blends small cell networks with macrocell networks to offer carriers a seamless mobile network,” Hudson said. “These solutions are aimed at the technical and logistical challenges that operators and their service companies, such as OEMs, increasingly face in North America and other key global markets. EBlink has tremendous potential for growth in this dynamic global environment.”

“These new members complement the strengths and experience of our current board members and provide strong endorsements of EBlink’s vision of providing a cost-effective wireless fronthaul technology for current and future generations of mobile networks,” said Alain Rolland, EBlink’s CEO. “We are pleased and honored that Giuseppe Donagemma, Chris Burke and Vivian Hudson have joined our boards.” For more information about EBlink’s board members, visit: http://eblink.fr/board-members.

About EBlink

EBlink develops alternative solutions for the deployment of base station sites in mobile networks. Created in 2005 and headquartered near Paris, the company aims to revolutionize mobile networks by creating a new industry standard: the wireless fronthaul. EBlink’s Wireless Remote Radio Head™ solution builds on the benefits of remote radio heads and adds the flexibility of a wireless link. It eliminates the need for coaxial cables or fiber optics by providing a radio link between base stations located on the ground and the network antennas. This cuts operating costs and capital costs by dramatically reducing the amount of time operators spend on site searches, zoning, negotiation and installation. EBlink products are validated and used by many mobile operators around the world.
