BAE Systems Applied Intelligence Launches CommsReveal™ Prescriptive Analytics For Communications Service Providers

CommsReveal provides prescriptive insights to enable operators to understand their business performance. Using advanced machine learning and simulation, CommsReveal helps operators streamline customer value management, improve customer experience and focus their network investments

BAE Systems Applied Intelligence today unveils CommsReveal™, a prescriptive analytics tool which helps Communications Service Providers (CSPs) predict how changes to network infrastructure, tariffs and products will perform, before the change is made.

CommsReveal™ creates a forecast and makes recommendations for the future by learning the behaviours of individual subscribers in response to a CSP’s actions and events in the wider world.  CommsReveal™ is cutting edge: offering CSPs a new perspective on the huge array of factors that drive customer requirements – making positive, proactive recommendations for both reducing customer churn and for targeting network investments.

Based on high-performance, in-memory analytics, CommsReveal™ processes large quantities of data already held by the CSP, as well as external data (including weather; social media; sport schedules; competitor information; network performance and news feeds). The result is the power to understand, predict and simulate the causes of user dissatisfaction or network issues, before they have an impact.

Analysing data volumes that rise to tens of billions of records per day, CommsReveal™ combines BAE Systems Applied Intelligence’s Big Data analytics heritage with award-winning visualisation and simulation technology. BAE Systems has teamed up with technology partners EMC, for the linear scalability provided by its Isilon technology, and Cloudera, for its supportable, secure Hadoop distribution. This best of breed technology stack combines to unlock the value of Big Data for the CSP’s business and to improve customer satisfaction.

Richard Jarvis, Head of CSP Innovation, BAE Systems Applied Intelligence said:
“We’re excited to be unveiling this new solution. For CSPs, customers are increasingly cost- and service-conscious, and are no longer necessarily loyal to mobile operators. The pressure to retain and satisfy customers has never been greater – especially with the introduction of new products and services which are costly and complex to provision. Understanding what causes customer frustration and churn is vital to operators looking to maintain their customers’ loyalty and a successful business.

CommsReveal makes complex data science accessible to business decision makers and allows them to create views of customers, map their actual and expected performance and then model and cost solutions to problems before they arise.”
