BH Telecom selects Nokia Siemens Networks to deploy 3G network

Expansion and modernization of BH mobile network to improve customer experience

BH Telecom is upgrading its network to provide 3G mobile broadband access across the northern and eastern parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The company has chosen Nokia Siemens Networks to provide the 3G HSPA+ radio access network and related services for the rollout. Subscribers of BH Telecom will then be set to enjoy an overall improved communications experience including greater coverage, excellent mobile broadband and multimedia services.

“Our customers are increasingly adopting advanced smartphones and tablets which require the best quality possible in terms of coverage and network performance”, said  Nedžad Rešidbegović, CEO of BH Telecom.

“Nokia Siemens Networks’ range of solutions and excellent support services in mobile broadband will deliver superior network quality so that we can address the upsurge in today’s networks. Subscribers will soon enjoy high-speed mobile broadband services such as video downloads and internet browsing with data speeds up to 30 Mbps.”

To modernize BH Telecom’s network, Nokia Siemens Networks will implement its award-winning Flexi Multiradio Base Station, the industry’s smallest and most energy-efficient offering which is modular and easy to implement. The rollout will include 3G deployment on the 2100 MHz and 900 MHz bands for greater coverage, as well as Dual Cell HSPA+ for higher data speeds. Nokia Siemens Networks will also upgrade the multi-vendor network management system NetAct to efficiently monitor, optimize and configure BH Telecom’s networks.

In addition, Nokia Siemens Networks will provide a range of services including project management, network implementation, optimization, and care services to improve network efficiency and enhance the quality of service.

“Maintaining growth and market leadership requires constant innovation and improvements”, said Elvedina Vugic, BH Telecom account manager at Nokia Siemens Networks. “We are proud to be entrusted with this project and will support BH Telecom to build the most innovative broadband and 3G network, strengthening our successful and long-time partnership with Bosnia and Herzegovina’s leading mobile operator even further.
