Rostelecom Selects Infinera for Multi-Terabit Intelligent
Transport Network™ in Russia
Sunnyvale, Calif., and Moscow, Russia – Oct. 8, 2013 – Infinera (NASDAQ: INFN), a leading provider of Intelligent Transport Networks and Rostelecom, OJSC. (RTS, MICEX: RTKM, RTKMP; OTCQX: ROSYY), the largest nationwide telecommunications operator in Russia, announced today that they have initiated the deployment of the Infinera DTN-X platform based on 500 Gigabit per second (Gb/s) coherent super-channel technology to extend the reach of Rostelecom’s transport IP/MPLS network.
With an Infinera Intelligent Transport Network, Rostelecom has the flexibility to offer a wide range of 10, 40 and 100 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) services to their customers. Infinera’s 500 Gb/s super-channel technology provides high-speed service delivery and high scalability for the multi-terabit transport network. The Infinera Intelligent Transport Network, featuring the DTN-X with photonic integrated circuit (PIC) technology, also allows Rostelecom to reduce operating costs by offering network automation capabilities, multi-layer convergence and high reliability.

The Intelligent Transport Network architecture is based on the Infinera DTN-X platform which uses the industry’s only commercially available 500 Gb/s coherent super-channel technology.
