ANNAPOLIS, Md., Sept. 12, 2013 – TeleCommunication Systems, Inc.   • At the 2013 NICE Workshop in Gaithersburg, MD, TCS Web Developer Christopher Barr is presenting “Becoming an Active Cyber Defender to Help Protect the Cyber Community.” Barr’s presentation is a part of the Track Four Poster Sessions on September 19 from 2:05 p.m.-3 p.m.
  • As part of Hacker Halted 2013, which takes place September 19-21 in Atlanta, TCS is sponsoring a “Capture the Flag” competition. Attendees of Hacker Halted are eligible to participate in this single-elimination competition where they can attempt to infiltrate a fictitious foreign government network to defeat a terrorist group. Utilizing their decades of experience in cybersecurity, instructors of TCS’ Art of Exploitation® curriculum created this competition.
  • At DerbyCon 3.0, which takes place September 25-29 in Louisville, KY, TCS CNO Trainer/Instructor Brendan Watters and TCS CNO EngineerNathan Magniez will be presenting to the technical cybersecurity community. On September 27 from 6:30 p.m.-6:55 p.m., Magniez will discuss “ANOTHER Log to Analyze – Utilizing DNS to Discover Malware in Your Network,” and on September 28 from 1 p.m.-1:50 p.m., he will discuss “Alice Goes Deeper (Down the Rabbit Hole) – Redirection 2.0,” which will cover the latest on the topic of redirection and how to use it to send exploit packets to the end target. On September 29 from 1 p.m.-1:50 p.m., Watters will present “A SysCall to ARMs,” which will explore how to create a simple socket program written in ARM assembly. TCS is also exhibiting at DerbyCon and invites attendees to stop by and learn about the company’s cybersecurity services.
