Telestream Integrates VidChecker QC with Vantage Workflow
File-based workflow and advanced quality control integration to be demonstrated at NAB2013

Las Vegas, the NAB ShowT, April 8, 2013 – Telestream®, the leading provider of digital media tools and workflow solutions, today announced the integration of Vantage® video transcoding and workflow orchestration products with VidChecker, the second-generation auto QC (quality control) software product from VidCheck. The joint solution is being demonstrated at Telestream booth SL2605 at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) show in Las Vegas April 8-11.

“Automated QC is becoming increasingly critical in file-based workflows, particularly with the proliferation of different formats that a broadcaster or content producer is often asked to provide,” said John Pallett, Director of Product Marketing, Enterprise Products, at Telestream. “Vantage does a great job producing the different versions, and VidChecker allows users to fully integrate QC within Vantage prior to transcoding to ensure the validity of incoming content.”

Broadcasters and content producers require their own mix of outputs, often with one-off custom versions for different clients. VidChecker allows users to do an independent check to ensure that the different versions created by Vantage exactly match the versions required by the end client. With sophisticated product integration, all of this can be done within one fully automated and unified system.

VidChecker QC software appears as an icon in the Vantage graphical user interface. Users simply select VidChecker QC as part of the Vantage workflow, choose the testing template, and then see the QC results within the Vantage interface. The quality control results can be used to select further steps in the Vantage workflow.

VidChecker is unique second generation auto QC software which not only checks, but also corrects, the most common video and audio problems in file-based media. It also ensures that post production content, commercials, music videos, and other types of file-based media from content distributors are immediately ready for distribution and play out on web services, VOD, and TV broadcasts.

“We are extremely pleased to have VidChecker fully integrated with Vantage, as this provides great customer value. They get the thoroughbred transcoding of Vantage combined with the automated QC of VidChecker, all in one seamless workflow,” said Thomas Dove, CEO at VidCheck. “This addresses key issues in implementing file-based workflows – making transcoding and QC as integrated and reliable as possible.”

Vantage integration with VidChecker will be demonstrated at Telestream NAB booth SL2605. For more information about Telestream and Vantage, visit www.telestream.net. For more information about VidCheck and VidChecker QC, visit http://www.vidcheck.com/.
