Genesis to take active role in the thriving Metro Ethernet Forum

Coventry, UK – 2 April 2014 – Genesis Technical Systems, a provider of superfast broadband over copper, is proud to announce that it has today joined the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF). The MEF is an industry alliance comprised of more than 220 organisations globally and focuses on creating technical specifications that promote interoperability and deployment of carrier ethernet worldwide.

Genesis’ participation in the forum will further its revolutionary work in delivering superfast fixed and mobile broadband over copper, enabling Genesis to further advance small cell backhaul and last mile solutions for fixed operators. As a member of MEF, Genesis will have an active role in the Ethernet community, and will be able participate in the invaluable discussions that shape the future of the ever-changing industry amongst the many industry experts within the forum.

“We are delighted that Genesis Technical Systems has chosen to join the MEF, and we look forward to input and involvement from Genesis’ team of experts,” commented Kevin Vachon, Chief Operating Officer at MEF. “As our membership numbers continue to grow, we are pleased that Genesis shares the same vision as the MEF, which is to accelerate the adoption of carrier ethernet services and networks around the world. We look forward to many years of cooperation with the Genesis team.”

“Joining the MEF is a natural next step for Genesis as we continue to develop revolutionary products for the more than 450 million people who continue to access broadband over copper networks,” explained Genesis CEO, Nigel Hall. “We look forward to joining the MEF community and sharing knowledge, expertise and resources with other active members.”

About Genesis

Genesis Technical Systems, provider of DSL Rings® and mBond™, creates cutting-edge broadband technologies that enable fixed and mobile telecoms operators to cost effectively deliver ultrafast mobile and fixed broadband services, over existing copper networks to meet increasing broadband traffic demands.

DSL Rings® changes the competitive landscape for voice, video and data telecommunications services by enabling superfast Internet bandwidth to rural and urban customers at a fraction of the cost and deployment time of other solutions.

mBond™ provides mobile telecommunications operators with a unique opportunity to dramatically enhance their copper-wired base stations’ capacity. Bandwidth needs are significantly increasing with the deployment of high speed data services such as 3G and LTE. Therefore, telecoms operators need to enhance their BTS backhaul as fast as possible while keeping their costs low.

Genesis has offices in Calgary, Canada, and Coventry, United Kingdom.
