Glide Student expands in Europe with hire of New Business Development Manager

7th November 2019: Glide Group, a leader in fibre infrastructure and connectivity, has today announced that its student division will be expanding further in Europe with the appointment of Carolina Suarez as New Business Development Manager.

Prior to joining Glide, Carolina served as Business Developer at The Class of 2020, where she holds extensive experience in business strategy. Carolina will be responsible for Glide’s business development in the student division, building brand awareness and customer relationships  across Europe. She will focus on driving growth in the company’s revenues, by building strong relationships with Glide’s existing customers and prospective customers.

Commenting on the appointment of Carolina, Tom White, Director at Glide Student said: “We are delighted to have Carolina come on board at such an exciting time for the company. We are all looking forward to working with Carolina, who will be a great asset to the company as we accelerate through this period of fast growth.”

This news comes at time of The Class of 2020 Conference in Berlin, where Glide will be the lead sponsors. Delegates at The Class of 2020 will be staying in accommodation provided by one of Glide’s clients, The Student Hotel, where the company will be providing unlimited WiFi for guests.

About Glide Group

Glide Group started life providing broadband and telecoms and content services to mass accommodation units, in particular student halls of residence run by third party providers (PBSA; purpose-built student accommodation). In June 2016, CableCom acquired the multi-utility service and shared billing provider Glide. In December 2016, the company acquired business park broadband provider Warwicknet, bringing a new and substantial addressable market and fibre expertise.

The Group has also expanded organically into the Build to Rent/Private Residential sector in recent years. Private equity investor Inflexion backed an SBO in October 2013, alongside existing investor Livingbridge. The Group re-branded in June 2018 as Glide, using the market facing brands of Glide Student, Glide Residential, Glide Shared Living and Glide Business.
