SAO PAULO, BR – March 7, 2019 – GlobeNet, the leading and fastest-growing wholesale provider of telecom infrastructure in the Americas, announces that its CEO, Eduardo Falzoni, will join Capacity LATAM’s keynote panel on Tuesday, March 12 at 9:50 am. Entitled Evaluating the Upswing in Submarine Cable Construction Across the Region and Assessing Revenue Growth Opportunities, Capacity Media’s Natalie Bannerman will invite Mr. Falzoni and the other panelists to provide their insight into trends affecting the valuation of submarine cable infrastructure. Held from March 11-13 in Sao Paulo, Capacity LATAM is among the most prestigious of Latin America’s annually-recurring telecoms conferences.

With over twenty years of experience in the international telecommunications industry, Mr. Falzoni brings a deep understanding of network operator business models to the panel. As CEO of GlobeNet, he has led multiple teams successfully in undertaking strategic marketing, sales, planning, channel management and business development initiatives.

Panel Title:
Evaluating the Upswing in Submarine Cable Construction Across the Region and Assessing Revenue Growth Opportunities
March 12 @9:50 am

Panel Topic:
Growing demand for increased bandwidth and international connectivity in Latin America has led to a surge in investment in new submarine cables. This boom has now positioned Latin America as a leader in submarine cable construction globally. With so many new cables, and many routes connecting South America with North America and Africa, industry analysts continue to wonder how this will affect transit price. This panel will consider the following questions:

  • What is the strategy to develop a competitive business model?
  • Are network operators exploring alternative business models?
  • What current and innovative opportunities exist to monetize submarine cable infrastructure?

Panelists:

  • Antonio Nunes, CEO, Angola Cables
  • Eduardo Falzoni, CEO, GlobeNet
  • Larry Schwartz, CEO, Seaborn Networks
  • Norman Albi, CEO, AFR-IX Telecom
  • Oscar Ngomo, General Director, GITGE

Mr. Falzoni’s participation in the conference comes at an opportune time, as GlobeNet is currently working to lay a new, 2,500 km submarine cable that will link the Brazilian cities of Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo to Buenos Aires, the Argentinian capital. Co-owned by Facebook, the MALBEC cable will deliver double the current international capacity to Argentina and will be ready for service in the first half of 2020.
