GSA confirms over 250 LTE networks now launched
December 18, 2013 – GSA, the Global mobile Suppliers Association, confirmed today that 251 LTE networks in 93 countries are now commercially launched.
The number of countries with LTE service has grown 45% this year. LTE service has been introduced to 29 new countries so far in 2013. China is the newest market following the commercial launch today by China Mobile of its LTE TDD (TD-LTE) network.
Alan Hadden, President of the GSA, said: “Approaching half of the global total of LTE networks in service will have been launched during this year alone.”
