HGC achieves Metro Ethernet Forum membership
Hong Kong, 22 December 2014 – Hutchison Global Communications Limited (HGC), the fixed-line division of Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings Limited (stock code: 215), became one of an exclusive minority of Hong Kong network service providers to achieve Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) membership on 1 December.
MEF membership shows market recognition of high-specification Ethernet service.
MEF is a global industry alliance that focuses on carrier-class Ethernet networks and services with a mission to develop and regulate technical specifications and certification standards. MEF CE 2.0 has become the highest Carrier Ethernet specification since it was established in 2012.
HGC professionals are now entitled to attend highly-specialised MEF training courses that will ensure consistently improving technology standards in respect of the company’s Carrier Ethernet solutions.
MEF membership also enables HGC to meet the stringent requirements of high-end customers, such as multinational enterprises and international carriers, further stengthening HGC’s position in highend data service market.
