HGC, bigboXX and Canon Hongkong join forces to launch Cloud Document Management Service
Hong Kong, 22 May 2014 – Hutchison Global Communications Limited (HGC), the fixed-line division of Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings Limited (stock code: 215), along with bigboXX.com Limited (bigboXX) and Canon Hongkong Co Ltd (Canon Hongkong), today announced launch of Cloud Document Management Service.
The three collaborating companies have combined their expertise to create a one-stop cloud-based solution that includes document collection, scanning, index entry, the CloudFolder cloud document management system and cloud storage – all available on a monthly subscription basis. Customers are able to search for, collaborate over, share and store text, audio and video-based files at any time, thereby boosting productivity.
Range of monthly subscription service plans
In-house document management systems typically require hefty upfront capital investment, but the collaborative move by HGC, bigboXX and Canon Hongkong has made such a facility available from a cloud platform on a monthly subscription basis – and with minimal capex outlay. The service also slashes expenditure on technical support and IT maintenance. One significant outcome is that corporate customers, especially small-to-medium sized enterprises, can redirect manpower normally engaged in document management into building their businesses.
This solution offers a range of flexible and scalable service plans. Customers can choose a subscription plan based on numbers of users and cloud storage volume.
Pooling know-how to launch compelling document management service
The three companies have established a safe and reliable cloud-based document storage platform and management solution by pooling know-how in their respective fields of expertise. The cloud document management platform and all customer documents are hosted in HGC’s local data centres. These facilities have been designed according to TIA942 tier-3 grade, or higher, and have attained ISO 27001 certification for operational security. Coupled with abundant local and overseas bandwidth, as well as AES 256-bit encryption technology, the service enables customers to upload, store and retrieve documents in a high-speed and secure manner. In addition, HGC’s round-the-clock customer service hotline team is ready to provide all-round support whenever needed.
Another service highlight is an on-demand document collection, scanning and index entry feature, which greatly reduces the level of manpower required, especially when large volumes of documents are involved.
