September 2010 – Infrastructure thought leader and data centre expert, Carrie Higbie of Siemon, is due to speak on the topic of the changing face of the data centre in light of new technologies at the forthcoming DatacenterExpo event in Düsseldorf on 17 September 2010. Her talk will focus on the impact of cloud computing, virtualisation, consolidation and higher bandwidth demand technologies on the data centre environment.

Explaining her topic, Carrie said, “Data centres are evolving due to new technologies. But how can you ensure your datacentre remains manageable? Careful planning is one answer: On 17 September in Düsseldorf I will explain cause and effect decisions throughout the data centre ecosystem. Layout and configurations will be included plus considerations for colo or hosted environments, solutions for colo providers and power and cooling – with a particular eye towards greening operations.”
