HomeGrid Forum to Showcase Full Portfolio of G.hn Capabilities at

Computex 2014

Wide range of vendors demo interoperability and exciting advances to G.hn at Taipei Event

WHAT: HomeGrid expands its presence at Computex 2014 with its first booth while also hosting a press conference and seminar, reflecting the growing Asian demand for G.hn technology. HomeGrid will have a number of demonstrations in its booth as well as a special display of G.hn capabilities at the press conference and seminar.

HomeGrid is putting the spotlight on all G.hn mediums – wires and fiber, multi-vendor interoperability and G.hn’s high traffic capacity. There are deployment-ready networking demos that range from MIMO over powerlines to G.hn over coax with HPNA co-existence, G.hn over any copper pairs or fiber, and two Ultra-HD streams and four HD streams in a high traffic network over powerlines using G.hn. The event will also be showcasing the expanded number of silicon vendors and system vendors providing G.hn products as the number of manufacturers ready with G.hn equipment continues to grow.

The demos in the HomeGrid booth cover all four mediums, and multiple applications:

·         Powerline – two demonstrations

o   A 7-node demo – showing very high traffic, Ultra-HD support, and a large network of seven different G.hn systems from seven vendors that have G.hn silicon chips from three vendors, which shows maximum interop!

o   MIMO (multiple input, multiple output) – showing a mixed network of MIMO and SISO (single input, single output) G.hn devices and how they interoperate.

·         Coax – G.hn operating over coax while coexisting with the widely deployed HomePNA technology demonstration from Sigma Designs shows G.hn coexistence and convergence.

·         Copper Pairs – HomeGrid has two different copper pair networks on display. The first is a G.hn copper pair based home network. The second displays Marvell’s G.now™ MDU implementation based on G.hn, showcasing the ability of G.hn to meet the needs of many varied applications.

·         Plastic Optical Fiber (POF) – while the main focus of G.hn is reusing existing in-home wiring types, in some cases a cheap, simple to install new wiring system may be appropriate. This is where POF comes in. This demo shows just how well G.hn operates over this new medium.

·         eHome application – this highlights Metanoia’s vision of G.hn as the backbone network for the eHome with Chunghwa Telecom’s MOD service delivered cleanly over G.hn.

Press Conference & Seminar

You are invited to attend the press conference and hear first-hand the latest news and plans for deployment of G.hn, the powerful home networking technology that makes high speed communications possible over any in-home wire.  There will be a display of G.hn networks from four G.hn silicon vendors operating over shared powerlines, yet able to overcome inter-network interference, a G.hn exclusive capability.
