How healthy is the global internet? This new tool spotlights an overlooked issue

Over the last few years, state-ordered Internet shutdowns have increasingly been orchestrated for political reasons, to quell protests, or to control the flow of information to protect national security. In some countries, governments have also resorted to country-wide Internet shutdowns during national school examinations as an attempt to prevent cheating or information leaks.
