Service quality is a key area where operators need to demonstrate their commitment to quality, but can be difficult from a number of perspectives, including video quality, latency, and visual stability. As services expand, size and concurrency can also pose difficult problems that could affect the entire infrastructure of the provider. To prevent this, the entire video pipeline — from encoders, packagers and CDNs to the client device’s player — must be up to date, especially when viewing content on larger displays when end users’ tolerance for faults and bugs is very low.
