Huawei and China Mobile Jointly Carrying Forward 5G Innovation and Industrialisation
Shanghai, China, June 29, 2016 – Huawei and China Mobile showcased a suite of 5G products, including the 5G 3.5GHz prototype; 5G 6-100GHz prototype; 5G network slicing solution; and a 5G smart car case study, together with other 5G innovations at Mobile World Congress Shanghai (MWC Shanghai) 2016
The 5G 3.5GHz prototype presented is the first compact pre-commercial engineering prototype with large capacity designed on C-Band; the promising 5G band for wide coverage in China and most other parts of the world.
This is an important milestone in the 5G collaboration between Huawei and China Mobile. Huawei and China Mobile plan for further system function and performance validations on C-Band, while laying the groundwork for the industrialization and pre-commercialisation of 5G system facilities.
Huawei has played an active role in China Mobile’s 5G Innovation programs, as a key strategic partner in this field since 2013. In this time, experts from both parties have collaborated on 5G standardization, prototype development, technical verification and field trials to meet the telco’s stringent technical specifications.
The collaboration between Huawei and China Mobile, combined with the efforts of other leading industrial partners, will accelerate the commercialization of 5G key technologies and promote 5G as a unified global standard, through long-term, joint research and development.
Huawei and China Mobile will further strengthen their cooperation to promote the success of 5G commercialization, and work closely in areas of research and development of fundamental communication, internet of things, smart car, smart factory, cloud robotics and VR/AR. Additionally, in February this year at MWC Barcelona, Huawei was invited to join the China Mobile 5G Joint Innovation Centre as one of the key members.
Mobile World Congress Shanghai 2016 takes place at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC), China, from June 29th to July 1st.
