Hybrik and Signiant Announce Partnership on Cloud Media Workflows

Integration Provides Media Customers with Seamless File Transfer and Transcoding

Mountain View, CA, – Sept. 15, 2017 – Hybrik, Inc. today announced it has entered into a development partnership with Signiant, Inc. With thousands of users in the media and entertainment space, Signiant is the market leader in intelligent file movement software. Hybrik is the leader in large-scale cloud media processing, including transcoding and quality control. The integration of the two technology platforms brings outstanding benefits to the customers of both companies.

Most media and entertainment users today employ a hybrid approach to storage and processing, creating complex workflows with some on-premises processes and others happening in the cloud. Hybrik’s cloud processing system will now allow customers to integrate Signiant’s file upload, download, and final delivery into their Hybrik processing workflows. This integration allows for a more seamless transition between local storage, cloud storage, and cloud media processing. Users can simply drag-and-drop files into a local folder for automatic transfer to the cloud for transcoding and delivery.

For example, integrating transcoding into the delivery process allows different recipients to receive a file in different formats. The sender transfers a single version of a file, but each recipient chooses the exact format (container, codec, size, etc.) they wish to receive. Customers can also preview large media files before downloading them, as well as select which subsection of a larger media file they want to receive, which makes for a faster and more seamless intelligent delivery service.

“Hybrik’s high performance, low cost cloud transcoding solution is an exciting new development in the market,” said Margaret Craig, CEO of Signiant. “Integrating transcoding into our Media Shuttle platform will allow us to deliver more capability and convenience to our customers.”

“Accelerated file transfer is an absolute requirement in cloud-based media operations,” added David Trescot, CEO of Hybrik. “By integrating with Signiant’s Media Shuttle, we will be able to seamlessly bridge the on-premises and cloud-based operations that our customers need.”

“Hybrik and Signiant are both critical components of our media production workflows,” said Paul Jacobs, Director of Automation, Technicolor Digital Media. “Tighter integration between these two essential services is of benefit to media operations like Technicolor.”
