These robust and high-capacity facilities offer the space, power, cooling infrastructure and scalability, as well as the technical and operational efficiencies, to support the server and IT environments of the world’s most massive, big-data producers such as Amazon, Meta (formerly Facebook), Google, Microsoft, Oracle and IBM. One of the key aspects of hyperscale data centers is their immense interconnection ecosystems – vast by comparison to typical and older data centers. Hyperscale data centers provide data exchange points for hundreds of network and cloud providers to move the enormous volumes of data transported over subsea cables.
