IBC SEES EXTERITY LAUNCH NEW version of AvediaServer to ENABLE BROADCASTERS AND OPERATORS TO EFFEcTIVELY DISTRIBUTE tv AND VIDEO to CONTENT and commercal TEAMS

Extended functionalities for multiscreen viewing and embedded encryption provides state-of-the-art in-house video distribution for broadcasters and operators

Edinburgh, 03 September 2013 – Exterity, the leading provider of enterprise IPTV technologies for the secure distribution of live, on-demand and recorded video over IP, today announces that IBC (stand 14.105) will see it launch a new version of its AvediaServer solution. On-stand demonstrations will show how AvediaServer enables broadcasters to more effectively distribute video and live TV internally over the corporate LAN to content and commercial teams.

Exterity systems can presently be found in many of the world’s most respected broadcasters, content producers and operators including: BBC, Canal+, Endemol, ESPN, Etisalat, ITV, Warner Bros., NPR and many more.

New AvediaServer broadcaster-specific functionality being demonstrated at IBC includes:

· The AvediaServer Creator suite of flexible IPTV system commands for VOD, asset editing, recording and scheduling

· Meeting industry protection protocols by embedding HDCP v2 into its Avedia head end, receiver clients and licensed through IPTV system management application server

· AvediaServer controls the Artio Multiview solution which enables multiple IPTV channels to be viewed on a single screen.

“Most broadcasters now understand that IPTV over the LAN is the most effective way to distribute video internally and AvediaServer is already deployed by many of the world’s largest broadcasters to provide video throughout the enterprise,” says Colin Farquhar, CEO, Exterity.

“By integrating fully embedded encryption solutions to protect pre-production content we can now enable the broadcaster to distribute valuable third-party content internally before it’s been aired publicly. The ability to distribute content securely throughout the organisation ensures that anyone who needs to view video at a broadcaster can work so much more effectively,” concluded Farquhar.

Exterity in broadcast

Exterity has delivered enterprise IPTV systems to a long list of distinguished Media and Broadcast organisations. One of the key requirements for many organisations is that staff has access to a wide range of content as well as free to air channels. This allows them to keep abreast of everything that goes on in the industry through watching their own output as well as films, advertising and programming from competitors.

Many media organisations want to leverage the value in their own back catalogues, which can be achieved through deploying enterprise IPTV from Exterity, granting employee access to content at any time. With a full suite of display clients, content is available on employees PCs, Macs as well as on screens in meeting rooms, production galleries and other communal areas. In addition, Exterity solutions are:

Scalable, allowing the addition and administration of users and end points

Easy to manage

Maintain broadcast quality

Reduce hardware and operating expenditure due to product reliability, availability and monitoring

Allow granular control of content access by group, user or location

· Offer enhanced security, content protection and regulatory compliance

Provide the ability to create branded portals and completely customisable user experiences.

Media organisations repeatedly select Exterity IPTV solutions because they are widely recognised as the best overall systems for performance, reliability and scalability available in the market today.  Exterity products are particularly strong at offering flexibility, enabling media companies to easily add and remove channels and users, coupled with comprehensive monitoring applications to let administrators know what’s happening if a channel or a satellite feed has been affected.
