VS902 Universal IP Video Transport Platform
A key component of Nevion’s video services solution suite, the VS902 breaks new ground in flexible, protected video-over-IP service. The speed, processing capacity and level of integration of Nevion’s VS902 creates a video-over-IP solution that dramatically reduces CAPEX and OPEX. This high density, low cost platform can map up to four channels of HD, SD or ASI onto Gigabit Ethernet or 10Gigabit Ethernet, either uncompressed or JPEG 2000 – compressed, protected with FEC, with Nevion’s SIPS protection, or without protection.
Enhancements to VideoIPath Video Services Management Platform
VideoIPath—the video services management platform that Nevion introduced at NAB 2011, now includes an MVPN control infrastructure, a network topology modeling capability, and an application for equipment inventory management.
H.264 Codec—VS954
Nevion is introducing single-channel, H.264 contribution-quality; 4:2:2 and 4:2:0, 8- and 10-bit codecs with ASI and IP network interfaces.
VS906 Audio and Data Contribution Codec for IP
The VS906 provides linear or compressed audio transmission with mapping to IP. An analog version features four stereo analog audio inputs and outputs with 24-bit resolution at up to 96kHz. The digital version features four AES digital audio inputs and outputs plus two MADI digital multichannel audio inputs and outputs or four E1/T1 data ports.
Flashlink Add Drop Pass Module
A new Flashlink module being introduced at IBC is a building block in Nevion’s optical network video services solution. This multiplexer, installed at each node of an optical ring or other network configuration, is capable of adding, dropping, or passing signals that move flexibly through the network.
