Imagine Communications Appoints David Sykes as Vice President, Sales
Telecommunications Veteran to Lead Sales Team as Imagine Preps for Market Expansion
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – April 28, 2011 – Imagine Communications, a leading innovator in advanced digital video solutions, today announced the appointment of telecommunications veteran David Sykes as Vice President, Sales. David will report directly to Imagine’s CEO Richard Stanfield and lead the company’s sales team.
Sykes is a successful business professional with demonstrated achievements in all phases of sales, business development, product marketing and management with than more 25 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry.

Before joining Imagine, Sykes was Vice President of Sales and Marketing Strategy for Opnext. Opnext acquired StrataLight Communications in January 2009 where he became Vice President of Sales and Marketing. His sales team focused on the largest OEMs and Carriers worldwide, growing revenues from just over $10M to well over $100M in just two years. Prior to StrataLight, he spent more than six years at Turin Networks as Vice President of Market Development. His responsibilities included International Sales, Global Partners, Corporate Development, Product Marketing, and Sales Operations. Prior to Turin, Sykes held various leadership positions at Nortel Networks, Bay Networks and Network Equipment Technologies. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA.
