IneoQuest Advances Content Quality Monitoring Capabilities for its Expedus® DVA® IP Solution

Solution now offers ABR Encoder Boundary Point monitoring and regulatory compliance monitoring for Closed Captioning with dual 10G ports

Mansfield, MA (May 6, 2014) —  IneoQuest Technologies, the global leader in video analytics and service assurance solutions, today announced that it has added significant new capabilities to its award-winning Expedus® DVA® IP, an advanced video content monitoring solution for simultaneous management of content quality and transport availability. Expedus DVA IP is the only complete solution that enables video providers to deliver top quality content to their subscribers across any screen and optimize operational efficiency.

The new and enhanced capabilities added to this latest release of Expedus DVA IP include: Encoder Boundary Point monitoring for advanced adaptive streaming video, enhanced regulatory compliance with Closed Captioning monitoring and workflow automation, and increased performance and scalability with 4 times the monitoring bandwidth on dual 10G ports.

“Delivering a high quality viewing experience is a top priority for video providers as they strive to offer compelling services and increase their ROI,” said Joel Daly, Senior Director of Product Line Management and Marketing at IneoQuest. “We understand the complexities video providers face in delivering video services, so we continually innovate to help them effectively monetize high value content.  We implemented rich new features and functionality to the Expedus DVA IP platform to ensure it meets their critical needs.”

Advanced Adaptive Streaming Video Monitoring

IneoQuest continues to support video providers in getting a handle on managing the quality of their multiscreen video services on an emerging ABR streaming technology by leading the industry with the first and only solution to monitor Encoder Boundary Points (EBP). Expedus DVA IP monitors, detects, decodes, displays, and alarms on EBP messages ensuring the encoder properly marks the video sessions for valid downstream segmentation. By leveraging the Expedus DVA IP monitoring probe with EBP support, providers are better able to deliver a high quality viewing experience to their end subscribers.

Enhanced Regulatory Compliance Monitoring

IneoQuest extends its regulatory compliance monitoring with the addition of Closed Captioning monitoring enabling video providers to stay ahead of regulatory compliance.  This solution performs full decode of Closed Caption (CC) text to monitor, alarm, search, and report on missing CC, irregular words and patterns to ensure compliance with quality standards set forth by FCC regulations.

Expedus DVA IP makes Closed Caption and CALM Act compliance monitoring simple with its visual history and work flow automation. With per second thumbnails for every program, operators have real-time and historical visual proof with measurement data that they are compliant with FCC mandates. Visual verification correlated with audio loudness measurements from Expedus DVA IP provides CALM Act compliance for both embedded and locally inserted advertisements.

Increased Performance and Scalability

With a new higher performance platform that boasts 4 times the capacity and 25 percent less of a footprint, Expedus DVA IP offers the first scalable QoS and QoE solution monitoring several gigabits of video traffic via single or dual 10G ports. This means future proofing your monitoring platform with more scale and less impact. Expedus DVA IP provides extended storage capacity allowing for longer term historical analysis of measurement and visualization data in order to meet operational and compliance requirements, which has extended from a few days to months.

With these new capabilities, Expedus DVA IP is the only solution to provide the complete visibility necessary to understand the status of the network and improve delivery quality of video services for Multiscreen, OTT, and Linear TV. Expedus DVA IP enables providers to be proactive by locating content impairments and transport problems, identifying when and where they occurred in the network and produce actionable information to address issues before they impact customer experience.
