INGUN Joins Image Matters’ origami™ Ecosystem

Liège, BELGIUM —  11 December 2017

Image Matters is delighted to announce its collaboration with test experts INGUN, industry leaders in improving product quality and reliability, and ideal partners for origami™ Ecosystem members.

“Our partnership with INGUN is a key development milestone for Image Matters. In addition to providing super-fast IO connectivity quality control testing during manufacturing, our collaboration will also allow origami™ Ecosystem partners to quickly and affordably build test systems that meticulously validate their designs. This mechanism, in fact, has traditionally been difficult to master and expensive to deliver” – Jean-François Nivart, Image Matters CEO.

INGUN specializes in providing bespoke test systems at affordable prices to simplify the testing procedure during the quality control process of manufacturing. Employing INGUN to design customized test appliances further improves time to market for members of the origami™ Ecosystem, as well as guaranteeing reliable complex high-speed systems in the ever-demanding broadcast environments.

To leverage the power and modularity of the origami™ Ecosystem, product developers build their own interface circuits to deliver solutions with extremely fast turnaround times to meet the high-speed demands of SDI, IP, 4K and 8K systems. Once designs are complete, successful manufacturing demands rigorous testing procedures that must be adopted to ensure products meet the stringent requirements of today’s broadcast markets.

The costs and time involved in product testing are often under estimated and tends to manifest at the end of the development cycle – precisely when manufacturers and SI’s are under the greatest pressure to deliver their solutions. Developing test facilities with INGUN dramatically reduces validation times and costs, and results in greater reliability.

INGUN is an independent family run business serving global markets with their laboratory test equipment. Steady growth over the past few decades has resulted in an internationally acclaimed business. Starting with a small team of just seven employees, INGUN have developed into a successful company with more than three-hundred employees worldwide.

Image Matters origami™ Ecosystem is ideally suited to deliver hardware solutions to efficiently meet the tide of changes in the industry, like SDI and IP interfacing at the data speeds 4K and 8K video. The IM-B20 module, with its Xilinx UltraScale Kintex FPGA and exclusive Z-Ray connector, provides super-fast IO to facilitate 12G SDI and SFP fiber IP.

Modularity is key to future-proofing systems and this is even more evident as we transition to 8K. origami™ allows custom PCBs to be designed easily and quickly empowering SI’s and OEM’s to rapidly deliver product to market.

Using INGUN to test their IM-B20 and IM-B21 products, Image Matters have saved a tremendous amount of time and can continue to focus more resource on delivering new products to market.
