iWayAfrica Selects Telrad Networks for 4G Network Evolution to TD-LTE
Solution brings enhanced wireless connectivity to Sub-Saharan Africa
Telrad Networks, a global provider of innovative 4G wireless and telecom solutions, today announced that pan-Africa telecoms operator, Gondwana International Networks company, (iWayAfrica), will deploy Telrad’s Dual Mode solutions to evolve their network from fixed WiMAX to TD-LTE. Working with Telrad, iWayAfrica will bring enhanced connectivity to their growing base of business subscribers in Nairobi – with aggressive plans to expand into their remaining Sub-Saharan coverage area.
Since 2008, iWayAfrica has offered a variety of broadband services (VPN and Internet) on its WiMAX network to a primarily corporate customer base, including small, medium and large businesses. Leveraging Telrad’s turnkey suite of 4G solutions, iWayAfrica will be able to enhance its existing Internet service offerings, enabling significantly increased capacity and coverage.
Telrad’s BreezeCOMPACT 1000 base stations, combined with dual mode CPEs, will help set a path for iWayAfrica to smoothly evolve their network from fixed WiMAX to TD-LTE. Telrad’s unique software defined radio (SDR) enables a seamless, software-only migration from WiMAX to LTE.
