JustGiving selects WorldPay to support global payment processing

Agreement between WorldPay and JustGiving enables fundraising website to process thousands of simultaneous payments from sponsors across the globe

LONDON (Jan. 24, 2013) – JustGiving, the UK’s most popular online giving platform and WorldPay, the global leader in payment processing, risk and alternative payments have today announced an agreement which will see WorldPay process online giving transactions from donors all over the world.

To ensure optimal transaction acceptance for the millions of users that donate to charitable causes, JustGiving requires a payment processing service capable of quickly accepting high volumes of payments. During peak times such as the London Marathon, the online giving platform handles up to 6,000 donations per hour.

WorldPay processes tens of thousands of transactions daily, accepting all major credit and debit cards, as well as payments made using the 200+ alternative payment types that WorldPay offers. Providing a robust and reliable service, WorldPay meets JustGiving’s must-have need for maximum payment uptime, allowing for sponsors to successfully donate at any time using their preferred method of payment.

WorldPay’s Optimising your Alternative Payments report, an in-depth global whitepaper of the alternative payments landscape found that cultural differences influenced the ways consumers shop and pay for goods online. Using WorldPay’s extensive payment offering and knowledge of over 200+ alternative payment types, the agreement also enables JustGiving to grow internationally.

Phil McGriskin, Chief Product Officer, WorldPay, comments: “JustGiving provides a great service that enables people to make charitable donations to worthy causes. By using WorldPay’s payment processing services, JustGiving can be confident that transactions are made swiftly and successfully. We are excited to utilise our expertise in global transactions in collaboration with JustGiving to help the service expand.”

Neil Bannister, Chief Financial Officer at JustGiving, comments: “In order to grow giving globally, it’s vital that online giving is as swift and seamless as possible, allowing donors to give whenever and wherever generosity strikes. We’ve chosen to work with WorldPay because we feel they’ll provide the best possible service for our users and will help us to grow charitable giving across the world.”

WorldPay is connected to more than 50 local currency clearing systems and has more than 400,000 merchants and 300 financial institutions as customers worldwide.
