KEYMILE presents new solutions for optical fibre connections at the FTTH Conference 2013

Hanover, January 29, 2013 – KEYMILE will display its full range for high-performance and economical FTTx broadband expansion at the FTTH Conference 2013 from 19 to 21 February in London. One of the innovations is the MileGate 2880 GPON solution for broadband access via passive optical networks. KEYMILE is Gold Sponsor of the FTTH Conference, one of the leading European congress fairs on optical fibre technologies.

KEYMILE is a leading technology supplier of access and transmission system communications solutions. The company will be at the FTTH Conference 2013 in the Exhibition Centre in London on stand G20. At the show, the focus will be on the multi-service access platform MileGate which enables superior and cost-efficient expansion of FTTx broadband. MileGate provides all broadband technologies from ADSL2plus to VDSL2 with vectoring to active and passive optical GbE connections. As a result, it enables economical migration from FTTC to FTTH.

The new compact MileGate 2880 GPON-solution has been designed for data transmission in passive optical networks and complements the KEYMILE broadband access portfolio. With a subrack of eight height units, at a splitting factor of 1:64 up to 4,096 subscribers can be supplied. For smaller installations there’s the MileGate 2820 with a subrack of two height units for connecting up to 1,024 subscribers. Therefore, in addition to the MileGate solution for point-to-point connections in active optical networks, there is now also a system for passive optical networks. Network operators can use MileGate GPON as a reasonably priced broadband solution to implement triple-play services.

In optical point-to-point networks, due to very high port density network operators can supply fibre connections for up to 480 subscribers using one 19-inch subrack (8 HU). With an optical CATV overlay for analogue and digital television signals, network operators can also transmit cable TV signals simultaneously with the IP data stream via the same optical fibre.

KEYMILE will also be giving a presentation at the FTTH Conference 2013 in London. On Thursday, 21 February at 11.15 a.m., Dr Wolfgang Spahn, Chief Technical Officer at KEYMILE, will be talking about future-proof and economical expansion of FTTH networks as part of session 12 “Innovation on FTTH networks and the end user’s point of view”.

KEYMILE is Gold Sponsor of the FTTH Conference 2013. For more information about the event, go to: www.ftthcouncil.eu/ftth-conference/welcome.
