KEYMILE reaps success in MENA

Hanover, August 4, 2011 KEYMILE has seen close to 3 fold sales increase in the Middle East and North Africa regions after establishing its local Competence Centre.

KEYMILE, a leading supplier of cutting-edge technology for communications solutions in access and transmission systems, forecasts impressive sales growth in the MENA regions during their fiscal year ending September after establishing a new Competence Centre in Dubai on the second half of 2010.

The new Competence Centre was established to improve support and interaction with local partners and users. By offering lower costs for training, faster response on pre and post sales activities, shorter delivery times, and a direct link to product development, the KEYMILE Competence Centre boosted the company’s results and customer satisfaction with its services. Pivotal to achieving the necessary end-user reach is the company’s policy to work with few selected partners, providing them training as well as full pre and post sales support.

Sales were mainly driven by mission critical applications such as water and electricity, oil exploration, security and defence, and railway transportation. There was also strong demand from telecom operators for 2G, 3G, and 4G mobile backhaul solutions, and delivery of business IP and leased line services. Common to these applications was the need for a seamless TDM and IP integration in one platform with the highest levels of reliability and quality.

KEYMILE’s next-generation products are designed with native TDM and IP technologies. With contract commitments that can span over a decade of support, their solutions allow users to choose when to migrate services from traditional TDM interfaces to the packet world. The multi-service access platform MileGate, for example, supports services via IP, TDM, and SDH/PDH technology from 9.6 kbps to Gigabit-Ethernet, where every slot is connected redundantly at 10 Gbps-Ethernet.

Developed in Switzerland and Germany, KEYMILE systems are made in the company’s own factory in Hanover following the highest quality standards.

Their products are designed for outdoor installation with some enduring constant operation at up to 75C. There are thousands of KEYMILE units installed in the Middle East alone, from underground monitoring stations in the desert, to roof-top base-stations in major Gulf capitals. Having customer in over 100 countries, the company has added local support to their global experience to succeed.

“KEYMILE’s Competence Centre has given us invaluable support to win new projects, and, as importantly, to deliver them successfully,” says Jay Patel, Deputy General Manager of Bahwan Trading Company, a KEYMILE partner in Oman. “In preparation for a strategic project where the customer wanted to migrate their network to IP and Ethernet without changing their legacy systems, KEYMILE quickly delivered a custom-developed training in Dubai to our team, providing an extremely fast response that fulfilled our requirements while keeping costs low.”

“The success of our Competence Centre reinforces our strategy to get closer to our partners and customers,” says Frank Krause, Chief Sales and Service Officer at KEYMILE. “This will build our growth with our customer base and increase their satisfaction with KEYMILE.”
