Keysight Technologies’ UXM Enables General Test Systems Win for China Mobile Terminal Test Center’s OTA Project

SANTA ROSA, Calif., Jan. 28, 2016 – Keysight Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: KEYS) today announced that General Test Systems’ (GTS) RayZone-7000 OTA solution, which integrates Keysight Technologies’ UXM wireless test set, won the China Mobile Communications Corporation (CMCC) Terminal Test Center’s recent bid.

The solution, chosen by CMCC terminal test center in Hangzhou, China, is a GTS RayZone-7000 OTA Test system, which offers 2G/3G/4G SISO test capabilities. This solution can also be upgraded to support the radiated two stage (RTS) and the multi-probe anechoic chamber (MPAC) MIMO OTA measurement methodologies.

The system integrates Keysight’s UXM Wireless Test Set. For RTS LTE/LTE-A FDD and TDD, the system exploits the unique and advanced capabilities of the UXM’s built in channel emulator. This embedded emulator supports spatial channel models and calibrations essential to the operation of RTS, thus reducing the complexity of the system and enabling developers to evaluate real-world performance of devices.


GTS developed its proprietary RayBond wave-absorbing material for its anechoic chamber, which features high-performance electromagnet wave absorbency, is deformation-proof and humidity-proof, and is environmental friendly.

The UXM is the ideal choice in this application as it supports the mainstream cellular formats, including 4G/3G/2G, Carrier Aggregation, 4×4 MIMO and TM9. The test set enables engineers to stress UE performance, such as VoLTE, battery drain and full rate end-to-end data throughput up to 600Mbps.
