Ooredoo Streamlines Management Effectiveness by Introducing Qadaa Leadership Development Programme

Muscat, Oman

Under the auspices of His Excellency Sheikh Salim Mustahail Al Mashani, Advisor to the Diwan of Royal Court and His Excellency Seyid Salim Musallam Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of Ministry of Civil Services for Administrative Development, the Ooredoo Human Resources Department launched the Manager’s Toolkit programme, the result of extensive research into effective resourcing. The programme is designed to support the Ooredoo management team through the introduction of a unified approach to leadership across all departments. Consolidating management guidelines, information and templates in one place, this comprehensive guide helps supervisors, senior executives, and department heads as they recruit and hire new family members, and train, mentor, and coach staff to maximise their potential. The approach will allow managers to strengthen capabilities on the journey to realising their personal ambitions and achieving company goals.

Highlighting the importance of the Qadaa leadership development programme, Kumail Al Moosawi, Chief People and Corporate Affairs Officer at Ooredoo, said: “With a shared approach to talent management that is aligned with organisational and international best practice, this programme is a primary point of reference and essential handbook for all our managers. Supporting them in all aspects of their role, the Toolkit equips our executives with consistent and proven techniques to streamline processes, direct decision-making, and facilitate administration. We look forward to the positive impact this will have throughout Ooredoo on job performance, efficiency and employee engagement.”

Straightforward and unambiguous, the Qadaa leadership development programme is organised in seven sections, including: leadership development, goal setting & effective performance management, career & succession planning, coaching & mentoring, change management experience, developing the right culture based on Ooredoo values and employee engagement. It is a key part of Ooredoo’s commitment to both leadership development, and also to the enhancement of the work environment. It is also an essential component of Ooredoo’s preparations for the future and its robust long-term approach to generating value and success.

Ooredoo aims to be not only Oman’s communications provider of choice but also its preferred employer, expressing its core company values of caring, connecting and challenging as much in its human resource operations as in its value-packed products and services. With a firm and enduring belief in the potential of Oman’s talent pool, Ooredoo is committed to capacity building. And preparing for the future, guides team members on a structured career and training path, developing the next generation of telecommunications industry leaders.
