London based Startup QuarkSe and Etisalat launch eSIM-enabled Supercar at GITEX

London based Startup QuarkSe and Etisalat launch eSIM-enabled Supercar at GITEX London, October 19, 2016:  Today marks a turning point in state-of-the-art car-design and technology, as the world?s very first eSIM enabled Supercar is launched by the start-up QuarkSe, the global leader in eSIM technology, and a driving force for exciting developments in IoT (Internet of Things), in partnership with Rimac and Etisalat in UEA.

The eSIM Supercar is being demonstrated at GITEX at the Dubai World Trade Centre, October 16th-21st, 2016.

Already boasting a long waiting list, the eSIM Supercar comes with a price tag of $1.2m and brings people the best of futuristic luxury and technological convenience.

eSIM technology will gradually replace the classic physical SIM card we know, enabling a quicker and easier activation process for a much wider array of devices than ever before; wearables, smart metering, smart city elements and cars, as well as mobile phones, laptops and tablets.

?Etisalat is a market innovator and is pleased to work with partners such as Rimac and QuarkSe to develop the new generation of connected cars.

Etisalat is always in the forefront of innovation.? said Rashed Majed Al Abbar, Vice President Consumer Innovations of Etisalat.??”Allowing our customers to connect their Rimac Concept S supercar for telematics and support with the best network at any location, and to use the mobile number they wish, is in line with our promise to deliver the best customer experience with state-of-the-art technology,” said Mate Rimac, founder and CEO of Rimac Automobil. “QuarkSe is supplying a disruptive solution to the industry and we?re glad to have Etisalat as the first mobile operator to deliver eSIMs over the air to our cars? he said.

“By adopting the new eSIM Phase 2 GSMA standard, Etisalat, QuarkSe and Rimac are leaders in the next generation of mobile services. We?re at the frontiers of technology adoption, aiming to deliver outstanding customer experience with our local profile assistant (LPA) software module? said Luiz C. G. Silva, CEO of QuarkSe. ?This is an epochal market shift? he added, ?the eSIM will be present in 90% of the devices in 5 years; from wearables to cars, and QuarkSe will support this transition to a more flexible mobile ecosystem.”
