MEF Issues Call for Proposals for Proof of Concept Showcase At Global Ethernet Networking 2014 (GEN14)

14 August 2014, Los Angeles, CA – The MEF (Metro Ethernet Forum) announced today that a “Proof of Concept Showcase” will be the centerpiece of the exhibition area at the industry-wide MEF Global Ethernet Networking 2014 (GEN14) conference that will be held during 17-20 November at the Gaylord National in Washington, DC. The Showcase will provide a live window into the future of network-enabled cloud, data, and mobile services powered by the convergence of Carrier Ethernet 2.0, SDN, virtualization, and optical technologies.

The GEN14 Proof of Concept Showcase Call for Proposals is now available on the event website (www.gen14.com). Submissions close on 5 September, and the selection of a limited number of participating organizations will be announced in mid September. The MEF is encouraging a team approach with service providers and network solution providers coming together to spotlight innovation.

“We anticipate the Showcase demonstrations will be of great interest to enterprise, service provider, and other GEN14 attendees because they will be highlighting cutting-edge innovations that have the potential to reshape the services & network technology landcape,” said MEF President Nan Chen. “Among other things, we expect the Showcase will bring to life an industry transformation that will enable network operators to deliver more customized, assured, high-value services orchestrated over more automated networks.”
