AND ZEE ENTERTAINMENT ENTERPRISES LTD. TO HEADLINE
PWC MEDIA MASTERMIND KEYNOTE AT MIPCOM

Paris, Monday 9 September 2013 – Roma Khanna, President, Television Group & Digital of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, and Punit Goenka, Managing Director & CEO of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (ZEEL), will topline the PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Media Mastermind Keynote at MIPCOM 2013.

Organised by Reed MIDEM, MIPCOM will take place in Cannes, from 7-10 October 2013.

PwC’s Global Leader Entertainment & Media, Marcel Fenez, will conduct individual keynote interviews with Khanna and Goenka on Tuesday 8 October, in the Palais des Festival’s Grand Auditorium, to discuss the evolution of the TV industry, exploring both changing consumer behaviour and business models, and how the nature of TV has evolved from a creative and content creation perspective. This will follow an in-depth look at forecast consumer and advertising spending patterns, drawn from the PwC Global Entertainment & Media Outlook.

Since her appointment in 2011, Roma Khanna has been spearheading the expansion of MGM’s television group and developing strategies to grow TV development and production, worldwide TV and digital distribution. The division has launched drama series such as “Vikings,” with HISTORY®, and the MTV co-production “Teen Wolf,” and is currently in pre-production with FX on the limited series “Fargo.”

Additionally, Khanna oversees MGM’s international television and digital sales team, which continues to expand the studio’s global reach with major theatrical releases such as “The Hobbit” trilogy and the James Bond franchise. Khanna previously oversaw development of NBC Universal’s 70 international channels. In 2012, Khanna was the first recipient of Reed MIDEM’s MIPCube Media Architect of the Future Award, for her pioneering work in the use of new digital platforms.

Punit Goenka has an extensive, diversified background, having previously spearheaded a range of divisions within ZEEL’s parent company, the Essel Group.

Punit, the elder son of Essel Group Chairman, Subhash Chandra, took charge of ZEEL in 2004. Under his leadership, ZEEL has achieved a global footprint by enhancing its international presence across 169 countries, in the process reaching over 700 million viewers. Punit’s sharp business acumen has led the company to sustained growth, outperforming the entire industry. During his tenure, ZEEL has also achieved scores of milestones and prestigious awards, including the Dun & Bradstreet – Rolta Corporate Award, Businessworld Infocom ICT Award, and IMC Fusion Award 2013 for Excellence in Media. With Punit’s farsightedness and futuristic vision, ZEEL is all set to reach one billion viewers by the year 2020.
