With MiCloud Flex technology, Mitel and BT bring the benefits of UCaaS to businesses transitioning from customer-owned to subscription-model solutions

  • Builds on long-term partnership supporting BT’s business customers
  • Provides a smooth cloud transition, allowing UK businesses to move at their own pace
  • Enhances customer experience through feature-rich contact centre capabilities

Mitel® today announced an expanded partnership with BT to deliver a customisable unified communications as a service (UCaaS) solution for its business customers: MiCloud UC and MiCloud CC. The launch brings together the UK’s leading telecommunications provider with a leader in global cloud communications to help businesses continue to manage increased levels of remote working and accelerate digital transformation. The solutions are based on Mitel’s MiCloud Flex technology and hosted in resilient UK data centers, offering businesses data sovereignty, compliance, and high levels of security.

A significant volume of BT’s business customers, ranging from mid-market and public sector to large enterprises, are supported by Mitel’s solutions. With MiCloud UC and MiCloud CC now available to this existing, large installed base, UK businesses can easily migrate their communications to the cloud and gain the benefits of a complete business phone, collaboration and contact centre solution in a subscription-based, low maintenance model. Customers already using a Mitel MiVoice Business system can even transfer their current configuration, retaining their existing hardware for maximum cost efficiency.

“Businesses are continuing to adopt highly flexible ways of working, and many of our customers are looking further ahead to their longer-term digital transformation goals,” said Francesca Lee, Commercial Director, BT’s Enterprise unit. “We’re at the forefront of offering converged digital solutions for business customers to embrace hybrid working and our partnership with Mitel supports our position.  Through the MiCloud solutions, we’re expanding our offering to customers with an easy way to use cloud communications and collaboration capabilities to increase productivity and gain access to Mitel’s latest customer experience tools.”

MiCloud UC and MiCloud CC give businesses greater flexibility with support for distributed workforces and the ability to scale quickly and simply. As a predictable monthly subscription, BT’s MiCloud UC offer includes advanced, real-time communications to help streamline collaboration and accelerate decision making. MiCloud CC supports feature-rich contact centre capabilities that enable companies to enhance the experience they deliver to their customers, offering them the option of connecting at any time and via any channel they choose.

“The digitisation and new communication requirements driven by the pandemic are here to stay and businesses need flexible solutions to be able to adapt to new business practices,” said Richard Roberts, Mitel’s Vice President, UK&I and Northern Europe. “With these new cloud offerings, Mitel and BT can truly support companies in navigating workplace shifts without compromising business goals by providing a smooth migration to a customer’s cloud of choice at the pace that’s right for their organisation. BT’s award-winning network combined with Mitel-powered cloud solutions will help businesses continue to deliver a better experience for their customers – and stay engaged regardless of where they’re working or what challenge comes next.”
