Redeem Appoints Andrea Gaal as Managing Director DACH and Central Europe

London, 28 January 2015: Redeem, the leading mobile phone recycling and re-commerce company in Europe, is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrea Gaal as Managing Director, DACH and Central Europe.

Andrea will have responsibility for growing a strong market presence in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Central Europe, across all parts of the Redeem offering including consumer, corporate and mobile network operator services.

Andrea comes to Redeem with over 15 years’ experience in various senior executive roles within Sony Ericsson and Sony Mobile, including Global Head of Retail and Distribution Channels, and over ten years in General Manager roles for Central Europe, Canada, Switzerland and Austria.  Prior to joining Sony Ericsson, Andrea was Country Manager in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Eastern Europe, Asia Pacific and Russia for Andrew Corporation, a hardware manufacturer for communications networks.

Claes Svensson, CEO of Redeem said,

“I am very pleased that Andrea is joining us.  Her extensive experience in telecoms in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Central Europe will be invaluable in helping us grow our presence in the region. In a population of over 100 million there are 130 million mobile phones with active sim cards in DACH; with only 5% of mobiles recycled or refurbished, the “DACH” market has great potential and we feel that we are well positioned to take full advantage of it.”

Andrea Gaal added,

“I am delighted to join Redeem at this point in time.  The mobile recommerce field is an exciting area with plenty of unexplored opportunities.  I look forward to making a considerable contribution to the overall result of Redeem Group.”
