• The mobile industry’s Interconnect Working Group (IWG) will meet for the

first time in Lleida on November 30th and December 1st 2011

• The RCS-e suite and the Embedded Mobile are the main subjects that will be

discussed

Lleida, November 29th 2011. Tomorrow Lleida will host for the first time a

mobile industry Interconnect Working Group meeting (IWG#15). This will

involve more than 50 international organisations within the global mobile

ecosystem meeting to discuss standards for the mobile communications

industry.

One of the topics that the IWG will discuss is the GSMA’s RCS-e project, a

simple and interoperable evolution to voice and text, which enables

customers to send instant messages, video chat and exchange files in

real time. All functions are built into the address book of mobile devices.

The GSMA’s Embedded Mobile programme is another industry initiative that

will be discussed during the IWG#15 meeting; The GSMA’s Embedded Mobile

initiative is a market development programme designed to accelerate the

adoption of wireless connectivity in a wide range of devices across the consumer electronics, healthcare, automotive and utilities sectors.
