Morpho (Safran group) has announced that its production facility in Mexico is the first in the Latin American region to receive the prestigious Security Accreditation Scheme (SAS) certification from the GSM Association.

The GSM certification verifies that Morpho’s production center and the card production and personalization process comply with the most rigorous security procedures to protect all of the components, cards and information, including subscriber data needed for personalization.

“For Morpho, this certification is a powerful means to demonstrate to our current and potential customers our adherence to the highest levels of security. It is one more step towards our strategic commitment to serve the Latin American market through strong local presence and added value”, said Paolo Villasco, Senior Vice President Sales Americas at Morpho. “Security is an essential factor for our customers, the mobile network operators. The SAS certificate confirms their confidence in Morpho.”

Morpho’s Mexican production center, which was opened in 2009, offers all services around telecommunications and banking cards, including embedding, personalization and fulfillment.
