NAC scoops £780,000 e-learning deal with healthcare giant

NAC, the award-winning IT and telecoms company, has won a lucrative £780,000 e-learning contract with the Four Seasons Healthcare Group that will ensure carers adhere to the highest possible standard of professional training.

Under the three-year deal, Edinburgh-based NAC will underpin the online healthcare training provided to more than 18,000 staff working for the private healthcare group.

The CareShield online training portal will allow Four Seasons staff at over 400 care centres and nursing homes in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man to further their professional training while they are on site caring for residents.

Together NAC and CareShield are helping raise standards in the care home sector by providing fully accredited e-learning to meet the statutory training required by industry regulators, the government and local authorities.

The system allows staff to work at their own pace 24-7 and reduces the amount of time they would otherwise have to spend attending training courses, while guaranteeing the same high standard of learning.

Learners’ progress can be tracked electronically and is available online, allowing companies to adhere to their regulatory requirements quickly, easily and cost-effectively.

Courses include Emergency First Aid at Work, Basic Life Support, Health and Safety Law, Infection Control, Dementia Awareness and Award in Food Safety, leading to a National Certified Qualification.

CareShield is part of the Access Academy group, the UK’s most progressive online training company. The unique CareShield system will provide substantial savings for the Four Seasons Health Care Group and create five new full-time jobs at NAC. The deal will also generate contract engineering work for at least five companies in the UK.

John Wilson, NAC’s Sales & Marketing Director, said that clinching the deal proved that dynamic companies that offer excellent levels of service to their clients can buck the economic downturn.

NAC has scooped several industry accolades, including two Chamber of Commerce national awards and a Global Business Excellence award for Outstanding Communications Service, which it won earlier this year.

John said: “In a time of economic uncertainty, NAC has proven there are opportunities out there for flexible, forward-thinking businesses with a can-do attitude and the willingness to go the extra mile for their clients.”

John Brogan, IT Manager of Four Seasons Health Care, added: “NAC provide the best service we have ever experienced. They give 100% every time. When we have a problem they solve it.”
