Napatech announces 1G platform refresh
ANDOVER, Massachusetts, April 27 – Napatech today announced a comprehensive refresh of the existing family of 4×1 Gbps intelligent network adapters. The planned refresh will take advantage of the latest feature enhancements available on Napatech 10 Gbps and 40 Gbps intelligent network adapters as well as providing the capacity to support future product and feature enhancements. This ensures that Napatech customers can provide a uniform, high performance offering from Megabits to 40 Gigabits per second and beyond.
“While there is a lot of justified focus on 40 Gbps and 100 Gbps, we have to remember that there is still a lot of customers and applications that require lower connectivity speeds”, explained Henrik Brill Jensen, CEO Napatech. “Napatech OEM vendor customers are required to provide a range of products that can address this broad set of needs with a common feature set. With this refresh, we ensure that we can provide this uniform support from Megabits to 40 Gigabits per second both today and in the future”.
The recently announced NT4E2-4T-BP 4×1 Gbps In-line network adapter with bypass functionality for high performance Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) applications is the first adapter to be announced as part of this refresh. Napatech plans to complement this product with 4×1 Gbps intelligent adapters targeting packet capture, replay and traffic generation applications. With over 100,000 ports now deployed, Napatech has a broad global customer base already supporting 1 Gbps applications and will continue to do so for some time to come.

The introduction of refreshed 4×1 Gbps intelligent network adapters allows customers to take full advantage of the entire Napatech portfolio through a single Application Programming Interface (API). The Napatech Software Suite provides a unified API for all Napatech network adapters allowing customers to mix and match network adapter types in a single system with data merging to a single analysis stream supported by a single customer developed analysis application.
